The Fair and Festivals in honour of the Virgen de la Cruz 2026 will be held from August 12 to 16 in Benalmádena Pueblo. La Húngara, Los Yakis, Paco Candela, Cepeda and Javi Medina will headline the concerts at the fairgrounds.
Benalmádena Pueblo is finalising preparations for one of the most significant events on its festive calendar. The Fair and Festivals in honour of Our Lady the Virgen de la Cruz 2026 kicks off this Wednesday, August 12, and will run until Sunday 16, with a programme that combines tradition, devotion, music, and activities for all audiences.
The Councillor for Celebrations and Popular Traditions, Yolanda Peña, has presented the programme for these days in which the municipality hopes to bring together locals and visitors around their patroness. “Benalmádena Pueblo is ready to celebrate its grand days,” stated the councillor, who invited everyone to participate “in an atmosphere of togetherness and joy.”
Five nights of music at Los Nadales
The Los Nadales Fairgrounds will open its attractions from 8:00 PM on Wednesday. The official inauguration and lighting of the artistic illuminations is scheduled for 9:30 PM, presided over by the mayor. The first night will feature a star performance by La Húngara, accompanied by the Orquesta Rompeolas and ElectroDuendes.
The musical line-up will continue on Thursday 13 with Los Yakis; Friday 14 with Paco Candela; Saturday 15 with Cepeda; and Sunday 16 with Javi Medina, a day that will also be dedicated to the little ones with Children's Day and reduced prices on attractions. The nights will be filled with orchestras and groups, including Los Papitos until dawn.
Peña highlighted that “a wide and varied programme has been prepared with great care, designed so that everyone can find their space at the Fair, from the youngest to our elders.”
The Day Fair returns to the Plaza de las Tres Culturas
The Day Fair will return from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 to the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, consolidating this location. There will be musical performances, a festive atmosphere, and free tastings of popular dishes. Traditional, sporting, and cultural events will also continue, along with competitions to involve locals, businesses, and groups.
Saturday 15, the patroness's grand day
The central moment will arrive on August 15, the feast day of the Virgen de la Cruz. At 11:00 AM, a mass will be held in honour of María Santísima de la Cruz at the church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, and at 7:30 PM, the procession of the patroness will begin through the streets of Benalmádena Pueblo, accompanied by the Banda de Música de la Paz de Málaga and the Cornet and Drum Band of Las Lagunas de Mijas.
On Friday 14, the Jardines del Muro will host the pilgrimage mass and floral offering to the patroness at 8:00 PM, with musical accompaniment from the Coro Virgen de la Cruz.
Accessible Fair with mobility alternatives
The Benalmádena Town Hall will enhance measures to ensure a safe, accessible, and inclusive fair. There will be an information booth, identification bracelets for minors, children's hearing protectors, a friendly space, and a nursing room, as well as a reserved area in the Municipal Booth for people with reduced mobility or functional diversity.
To facilitate travel to Los Nadales, several parking areas will be made available: the underground parking at Los Nadales, Santos Mareca street, the Retamar area next to the Buddhist Stupa, Colomares Castle, and Las Moriscas. Additionally, bus lines 103 and 107 will extend their hours until dawn.
“Behind these five days lies many months of work and the effort of municipal workers, security and emergency services, associations, groups, clubs, and brotherhoods,” concluded Yolanda Peña, who encouraged locals and visitors to participate with joy, respect, and togetherness.
