Mayor Francisco de la Torre welcomed a delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Justice Office on Thursday, led by its Director General, Gu Quan. The visit consolidates institutional cooperation between both cities and the Chinese European arbitration centre based in Málaga.
The Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, received on Thursday a delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Justice Office (China), headed by its Director General, Gu Quan. The agency is responsible for the judicial administration of the Asian city and oversees the Shanghai Arbitration Commission, whose European centre is located in Málaga.
The meeting also included the delegated councillors for External Action, Economy and Tourism, Mar Torres, Carlos Conde, and Jacobo Florido, respectively, as well as the President of the Málaga Chamber of Commerce, José Carlos Escribano.
The visit is part of the institutional cooperation maintained between Málaga and Shanghai. Last June, a delegation from the Málaga City Council, led by the councillor for Economy, Finance, and EU Funds, Carlos Conde, travelled to the Chinese city to strengthen the municipality's international projection strategy.
The European centre of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission in Málaga is the main stable link between both cities in the judicial and economic fields. Thursday's meeting serves to continue the contacts initiated last summer.
