The Municipal Library Network opens the submission period until 14 November for BookFace, Bookmark, and I Read and Recommend. There are seven age groups and one specifically for people with disabilities.

The Town Hall of Fuengirola, through the Department of Culture and the Municipal Library Network, has announced the VI Municipal Award 'Fuengirola Leyendo'. The deadline for submissions will be open until 14 November and participants can submit their proposals at municipal libraries, at the secretariats of educational centres, or, in the case of the 'I Read and Recommend' category, via Instagram.

The Councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, presented the details of this edition this morning, which maintains the three categories from previous years: 'BookFace', 'Bookmark', and 'I Read and Recommend'.

"We continue to promote a love for reading through fun activities, like these Fuengirola Leyendo Awards, which we will enjoy because that is the approach we want to give to reading, as a source of fun," Romero stated.

The announcement establishes seven participation groups. The first is aimed at people with disabilities; the second, at children aged 3 to 5; the third, at children aged 6 to 8; the fourth, at schoolchildren aged 8 to 10; the fifth, at children aged 10 to 12; the sixth, at young people aged 12 to 16; and the seventh, at participants over 16 years old.

The 'BookFace' category consists of taking a photograph in which the participant's face or another part of their body matches the image on the cover of a book. Groups 1, 6, and 7 can participate. 'Bookmark' proposes a free drawing to design a bookmark on card stock measuring 5 by 20 centimetres, open to all groups. 'I Read and Recommend' invites participants to create a video of a maximum of one minute recommending a book, which must be published on Instagram tagging the Fuengirola Libraries and using the hashtag #leoyrecomiendofuengirola25.

The winners of each category will receive a certificate and a set of books.
