The Minister of University, Industry, Energy and Innovation, Jorge Paradela, announced in Seville a new aid package aimed at mid-sized companies in Andalucía. This initiative was presented during the closing of the first meeting of the MidMarket Andalucía TRADE Club, with the participation of 31 highly recognised companies in strategic sectors.
Details of the aid package
This package totals €180 million, of which €104.5 million will be allocated for R&D financing and to facilitate access to other sources. Paradela noted that these funds will be complemented by another €80 million that the Andalusian government is preparing for the year 2027.
During his speech, Paradela emphasised the importance of placing Andalucía at the forefront of Europe regarding support for this business segment. He stated that, while Europe has recognised the existence of mid-sized companies, significant incentives for their growth have rarely been implemented.
Beneficiary companies and objectives of the Club
The MidMarket Andalucía TRADE Club is designed to benefit companies that generate between €50 million and €500 million in revenue, employing between 250 and 3,000 workers. In Andalucía, it is estimated that 366 companies meet these characteristics, collectively generating €31.255 billion and providing employment to 163,169 people.
Through this initiative, the aim is to provide support to mid-market companies, helping them overcome their challenges and facilitating a meeting space. In addition to financial aid, Club members will have access to advanced advisory services and will be able to participate in specific networking events to enhance their growth and international projection.
Among the sectors represented at the first meeting are services, engineering, consulting, industry, agribusiness, and the aerospace sector, highlighting the diversity and potential of the Andalusian business fabric.
