Former national football coach Vicente del Bosque visited his summer camp in Estepona on Tuesday, which is celebrating its thirteenth edition at the municipal stadium Francisco Muñoz Pérez.
Former national football coach Vicente del Bosque visited his summer camp in Estepona on Tuesday, which this year reaches its thirteenth edition. The activity, which has established itself as one of the most prominent leisure proposals for young people during the summer holidays, takes place during the last three weeks of July at the municipal stadium Francisco Muñoz Pérez and will conclude next Friday, July 31.
During the visit, Del Bosque was accompanied by the Sports Councillor of Estepona City Council, Susana Aragón. The former coach of the Spanish national team highlighted that the camp not only offers a sporting and leisure alternative but also aims to instil in participants a commitment to a healthy lifestyle, combining mental development, sports practice, and proper nutrition.
“The success of the Vicente del Bosque Football Academy is based on connecting sport and positive values such as friendship, teamwork, sportsmanship, integration, and effort. All these values are present in sports activities and are fundamental in the development and training of young people,” Del Bosque stated.
The former coach thanked the Estepona City Council for their collaboration and continuous support in each edition of the camp. He also praised the wide range of sports facilities in the municipality and their quality, which he considers key to the initiative's success.
For her part, Councillor Susana Aragón thanked Del Bosque for continuing to choose Estepona to host his traditional summer camp. “Vicente del Bosque is one of the great names in our country's sport, which is a very important motivation for the boys and girls participating. In addition to promoting competitiveness and physical exercise, the camp develops human values such as communication, integration, and teamwork,” Aragón affirmed.
The camp, which has been held for thirteen years in Estepona, has become a benchmark for grassroots sports on the Costa del Sol. During the three weeks, young participants receive technical and tactical football training, as well as participating in complementary activities that promote healthy habits.
The closing of the camp is scheduled for Friday, July 31, with a special day where diplomas will be awarded and farewell matches will be held. Families and friends of the participants are invited to attend.
