The Vélez-Málaga City Council has announced a special bus service for July 31 and August 1, coinciding with the Dreambeach festival. The measure aims to facilitate access to the venue and reduce the use of private cars.
The Vélez-Málaga City Council, through the Transport and Mobility Department, has launched a special bus operation for the celebration of the Dreambeach festival, which will take place on July 31 and August 1. The objective is to provide attendees with safe and comfortable public transport alternatives, and to reduce the influx of private vehicles at the venue's access points.
The special service will operate in two time slots during both days. Buses heading to the festival will run from 19:00 to 23:00, while return buses will operate from 05:00 to 08:00. This way, both the arrival and departure of attendees after the night programming is covered.
As for the routes, the line connecting Vélez-Málaga with the Dreambeach venue will maintain its usual stops. Meanwhile, the line from Torre del Mar will only stop at the Bus Station and at the stop on the Seafront, in front of the Heladería Buenavista. This measure aims to streamline the service and concentrate pick-up points in strategic locations.
Additionally, the summer night service, which is already operational, will continue to run at its usual hours until 02:30, expanding the public transport options available for attendees in the hours leading up to the start of the special return service.
The Councillor for Transport and Mobility, Celestino Rivas, has highlighted that “this reinforcement responds to the City Council's commitment to provide safe, comfortable, and accessible public transport alternatives during the two days of a major event like Dreambeach.” In his statements, Rivas emphasized the importance of reducing the need to use private vehicles, thus contributing to smoother and more sustainable mobility during the festival.
The City Council recommends that attendees plan their journeys in advance and use public transport to avoid congestion and improve road safety. It is expected that thousands of people will attend the event, which annually attracts a large number of visitors to the Axarquía region.
On the other hand, the Dreambeach organization has also set up a shuttle bus service from Málaga city. Interested parties can book this service and check its conditions through the official festival website: www.dreambeach.es. This option complements the municipal operation and offers an alternative for those traveling from the capital of Málaga.
The enhancement of public transport is part of a broader strategy by the Vélez-Málaga City Council to improve mobility during major events. In previous editions, the council has already implemented similar measures with good reception among attendees, who positively value the availability of buses during night hours.
For those opting for private vehicles, it is recommended to consult the access instructions to the venue and the designated parking areas. However, the City Council insists that the best option is public transport, both for convenience and safety.
The Dreambeach festival, held on the beach of Torre del Mar, is one of the most important electronic music events in Andalusia and attracts thousands of attendees every summer. This year's edition promises a lineup of top-level artists and a schedule that will extend over two full days.
With this operation, the Vélez-Málaga City Council aims to ensure that mobility is not a problem for attendees and that the festival takes place under the best possible conditions. The collaboration between the council and the event organization is key to the success of this initiative.
