The municipality of Axarquía hosts the Dreambeach festival for the first time, which will take place on July 31 and August 1 with four stages and international artists.
Vélez-Málaga is preparing to welcome thousands of electronic music lovers on July 31 and August 1, when the Dreambeach festival, one of the most important in Southern Europe, lands for the first time in the municipality. The event, which is presented as a milestone for the capital of Axarquía, will feature four stages and a programme that brings together some of the most prominent names in the national and international scene.
The new concert venue in Vélez-Málaga was the stage this Thursday for the official presentation of the festival's new phase. The event was attended by the city's mayor, Jesús Lupiáñez; the Youth Councillor, Lourdes Piña; and the booking director of Dreambeach, Gonçalo Miranda. All of them agreed on the significance of such a large-scale event choosing Vélez-Málaga as its venue.
The festival, which gathered more than 90,000 people in its 2025 edition, now embarks on a new journey from the Costa del Sol. According to the organisers, the move is part of a commitment to the growth and evolution of an event that has been consolidating as a reference in electronic music for over a decade. The organisation has worked closely with the Vélez-Málaga City Council and other administrations to ensure the event runs smoothly.
The mayor, Jesús Lupiáñez, described the arrival of Dreambeach as "a historic event" for the municipality. "For two days, our municipality will become the epicentre of electronic music and will welcome thousands of people who will get to know our city, enjoy our tourist, gastronomic, and cultural offerings, and contribute to boosting the economic activity of the entire municipality," said the mayor. Lupiáñez emphasised that the event represents "an extraordinary opportunity to project the image of our city far beyond our borders."
The venue has been designed to host a large-scale production, with four independent stages. Among them are the Main Stage, the Dream Tent by Blackworks, and the Breaks Stage by Híbrida, as well as other spaces that will offer a variety of musical styles. The programme includes influential artists and brands from the international electronic scene, combining different proposals to create a unique experience.
Gonçalo Miranda, booking director of Dreambeach, explained that "this edition represents a very important step for Dreambeach. We have built a lineup that brings together some of the most influential brands and artists in international electronic music, combining different styles and experiences to offer a programme with its own personality." He added that the new venue on the Costa del Sol allows for "growth, improving the audience experience, and continuing to project the festival into a new phase while maintaining the essence that has made Dreambeach one of the major references in electronic music in Spain."
The celebration of Dreambeach in Vélez-Málaga will provide a significant boost to the tourism and economic activity of the region. Thousands of visitors are expected to invigorate sectors such as hospitality, commerce, accommodation, transport, and services. Additionally, the festival will serve as a showcase to promote the historical heritage, natural spaces, coastline, and gastronomic and cultural offerings of Axarquía.
The Vélez-Málaga City Council has worked on coordinating the involved services to ensure that this first edition in the municipality takes place with all guarantees.
