The former national coach Vicente del Bosque visited the Francisco Muñoz Pérez municipal stadium in Estepona this Wednesday to oversee the thirteenth edition of his summer camp, which runs until July 31.
The former national football coach Vicente del Bosque visited the Summer Campus that bears his name in Estepona this Wednesday, a traditional event in the summer calendar of the Malaga municipality. The activity, now in its thirteenth edition, takes place at the Francisco Muñoz Pérez municipal stadium during the last three weeks of July and will conclude on July 31.
During the tour, Del Bosque was accompanied by Estepona councillor Susana Aragón, with whom he shared impressions about the development of the camp. Both greeted the participants and toured the sports facilities, which the former coach described as being of great quality.
The camp, organised by the Vicente del Bosque Football Academy, does not solely focus on football training. Del Bosque explained that the main objective is to promote healthy lifestyle habits among young people, combining sports practice, personal development, and balanced nutrition.
The Salamanca-born coach emphasised that the success of the camp lies in the transmission of fundamental values such as friendship, teamwork, sportsmanship, integration, and effort. “These principles are part of sports practice and are an essential tool for the personal development of the participants,” he stated.
For her part, councillor Susana Aragón thanked Vicente del Bosque for continuing to choose Estepona to develop this initiative. The councillor highlighted that the presence of a figure of the prestige of the former Spanish coach is a significant boost for the registered children.
Aragón noted that the camp promotes not only competitiveness and sports practice but also human values such as communication, integration, and teamwork, which are fundamental pillars in the education of the young. The Estepona Town Hall has collaborated with the camp since its first edition.
The summer camp has established itself as one of the main sports and leisure proposals for young people in the area during the summer period. Activities take place in the morning and afternoon, combining technical training with games and group dynamics.
Vicente del Bosque, who led the Spanish national team to World Cup victory in 2010 and European Championship victory in 2012, maintains a close connection with the province of Malaga. In addition to this camp, the coach has participated in other charitable and sports initiatives on the Costa del Sol.
The thirteenth edition of the camp will conclude on July 31 with a closing day in which the delivery of diplomas to the participants is planned. Interested families can still check the availability of places through the organisation.
