Benalmádena Town Hall will review and re-tender the 2024 Asphalt Plan after the awarding contract was left vacant. The Councillor for Roads and Works, José Luis Bergillos, attributes the situation to the rising prices of materials.
The Benalmádena Town Hall, through the Delegation of Roads and Works, has confirmed that it will review and re-tender the 2024 Asphalt Plan after the awarding contract was left vacant.
The councillor responsible for the area, José Luis Bergillos, detailed that the plan had a budget of €3,049,783, including VAT, of which €700,000 came from the contribution of the Provincial Council of Málaga through the PAEM. The planned actions covered 10.5 kilometres of streets and the renewal of 62,000 square metres of asphalt in the three population centres.
According to Bergillos, the municipal government wants to review the number of streets planned and readjust them to adapt to the recent rise in material prices. The aim is for the plan to move forward in the coming months.
“The streets that may be left out of this plan will be taken into account for inclusion in the new asphalt plans that are already being prepared for execution in future years.”
The councillor has indicated that the roads excluded from this first tender will be incorporated into the new asphalt plans that are already being prepared for future years. The initial plan was set to begin execution in October.
