The mayor Ángeles Muñoz has led the events of the fair's main day, which included the civic-religious procession, the award to surgeon and athlete Ana María Cerván, the mass at the Encarnación, and the Patron's procession through the Old Town.
The city of Marbella celebrated the main day of its fair in honour of the patron San Bernabé on Thursday, June 11, with a day that began mid-morning and gathered numerous residents in the historic centre.
The events started with the civic-religious procession that departed from the Fiestas headquarters on Salinas Street and reached the Cruz del Humilladero. There, the title of Marbellera de Honor was awarded, granted by the Huerto Porral neighbourhood association along with the City Council and the Federation of Neighbourhoods of Marbella.
This year, the recognition went to surgeon and athlete Ana María Cerván. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, participated in the procession and in the award presentation.
After the tribute, the day continued with a solemn mass at the Encarnación church. The morning concluded with the Patron's procession through the streets of the Old Town, which gathered a multitude of faithful and visitors.
“Marbella has celebrated today the main day of the fair honouring the Holy Patron San Bernabé,” the City Council reported.
The Council described the morning as “intense and emotional,” with high participation in all scheduled events.
