The Benalmádena Town Hall has begun the complete renovation of the Solymar square roundabout, affected by a traffic accident, thanks to a new bender that allows for the manufacturing of the necessary metal parts. The action is ahead of the resolution of the claim file.
The Operational Services of the Benalmádena Town Hall are already working on repairing the damage caused by a traffic accident at the Solymar square roundabout. The council has decided to act with its own resources to restore safety and the image of this location as soon as possible, without waiting for the procedure to determine responsibilities to conclude.
The intervention consists of a complete renovation of the roundabout and the replacement of the damaged metal elements. This action would not have been possible without the recent acquisition of a bender, a machine that allows for the manufacturing and adaptation of the necessary parts for this type of work, thus reducing dependence on external companies.
The councillor for Operational Services, Juan Olea, explained that “our priority is for public spaces to recover their state as soon as possible so that residents can enjoy safe infrastructure in the best conditions, which is why we have decided to act without waiting for the entire procedure resulting from the accident to conclude.”
Olea highlighted that the acquisition of this machinery represents a step forward for the service: “It provides us with greater autonomy to carry out repairs that previously required external orders, resulting in a faster and more efficient response.”
The cost of the repair will be claimed later from the insurance company of the vehicle involved in the incident, as the councillor specified. In the meantime, the Town Hall is taking on the action subsidiarily to expedite the recovery of the public space, which is heavily used by local residents.
“We continue to strengthen the material resources of the Operational Services to improve the maintenance of the city and offer an increasingly agile and effective service, while optimizing municipal resources,” added Olea. The work is set to take place over the coming weeks, with the aim of leaving the roundabout in perfect condition before the end of the month.
