The Tourism Department presents the Andalusian wine tourism offer at Vinòforum, a key fair in Rome, featuring tastings and experiences in wineries. The Italian market has grown by 6.6% in travellers up to July.
Andalusia strengthens its presence in the Italian wine tourism market by participating in Vinòforum, the fair taking place in Rome until the 13th. Under the umbrella of the Turespaña exhibitor, the region showcases its wine routes, wineries, gastronomic products, and experiences linked to wine culture, according to Diario Sur.
The Tourism Department of the Junta de Andalucía highlights that this segment "provides a differential value based on authenticity, local identity, and a direct connection with the landscapes, trades, and ways of life associated with wine production," which helps to better distribute travellers across the territory. At this fair, technicians from Tourism of Andalusia will contact operators and influencers from the Italian market.
This edition of Vinòforum is expected to welcome 80,000 visitors and brings together wineries, agri-food companies, tourist destinations, importers, distributors, and buyers. The programme combines an exhibition area, guided tastings, presentations, and gastronomic experiences.
The presence at this fair coincides with a peak moment for the Andalusian destination in Italy. Hotels in the region received over 341,000 Italian travellers between January and July, who made 787,000 overnight stays, with increases of 6.6% and 9.2% respectively compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Department.
Andalusia has a "millenary tradition" in grape cultivation and wine production, and nearly 70% of its vineyards are protected by one of the seven designations of origin, along with another 16 protected geographical indications. The offer presented in Rome "forms an option for travellers to approach the destination from the uniqueness of its territories," state the Andalusian Government.
