Operation in Málaga Against Vehicle Gatherings
The Local Police of Málaga carried out an operation on the weekend of October 17 aimed at controlling unauthorized vehicle gatherings. In this operation, a total of 55 fines were recorded, along with two criminal reports.
The officers began to deploy on the night of Friday in the Guadalhorce business park and other areas of the city. Approximately 80 vehicles were identified near the Azucarera-Intelhorce road.
Fines and Penalties Imposed
During the operation, various violations were addressed. Two criminal reports were filed: one related to a driver operating without a license and another for exceeding the permitted blood alcohol level.
Additionally, 53 administrative fines were imposed, of which 42 were for speeding. Other fines included driving without insurance, failing the Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV), improper use of a mobile phone while driving, and driving with an invalid permit.
This operation is part of a plan that the Local Police has strengthened over the past year to prevent such gatherings, which pose a danger to participants and other road users due to their nature.
In addition to physical checks, officers also investigate through social media, allowing them to detect and sanction infringing behaviours from a distance.
It is important to highlight that this year, a driver received a four-month prison sentence and lost their right to drive for eight months and two days. This was a consequence of a reckless driving offence, based on footage recorded on social media.
