The Museum of the City of Antequera hosts this Friday the 10th edition of the Mediation Days, organised by the City Council and the association Solucion@. The meeting brings together professionals to analyse mediation tools applied to families.
The Assembly Hall of the Museum of the City of Antequera hosts this Friday the 10th Mediation Days of Antequera, under the title "Intervention with families from a restorative and mediating perspective". The meeting is jointly organised by the City Council of Antequera and the association Solucion@.
The opening was led by the mayor, Manolo Barón, who highlighted mediation as a way to reach agreements without resorting, in certain cases, to judicial procedures. Alongside him were the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare and Citizen Cooperation, Alberto Arana; the Councillor for Family and Equity, María Sierras; and the president of Solucion@, Antonio Fernández.
Fernández recalled that the collaboration between the association and the City Council dates back to 2012, particularly through the family mediation service. This tenth edition incorporates the association's experience in restorative justice applied to family intervention.
The programme includes talks by Anna Vall Rius on the spectrum of restorative practices, and Gabriela Rodríguez Querejazu on the development and strengthening of healthy bonds. Additionally, there will be a discussion on different approaches to family intervention, led by Lola Montejo Cumilleras, and a round table on the Police Mediation Service of Antequera, moderated by the head of the Local Police, Francisco Alcántara.
Antonio Fernández explained that this tenth edition incorporates the experience accumulated by the association in the field of restorative justice.
This afternoon, a restorative circle of gratitude and tribute to Jean Schmitz, an international reference in restorative justice who passed away in May, is scheduled, having previously participated in training activities in the city.
The days are aimed at professionals in law, psychology, social work, education, and public administrations, as well as anyone interested in the peaceful resolution of conflicts and coexistence.
