Ayamonte, 23rd October 2026. The Civil Guard has carried out a significant intervention in coordination with the GNR and the Portuguese Maritime Police, confiscating 127 bales of hashish, amounting to over five tonnes.

The events occurred on the night of 21st October, when a rigid-hulled inflatable boat was detected near the entrance of the Guadiana River. Upon noticing the arrival of the authorities, the crew of the vessel attempted to evade capture by throwing the bales into the water.

Operational Deployment

The detection of the vessel led to a large-scale search operation that included resources by sea, land, and air, with the participation of different units of the Civil Guard such as the Provincial Maritime Service, Citizen Security, Pegaso Team, Reserve and Security Group (GRS), and Air Service.

The joint effort allowed for the recovery of a total of 127 bales, which were retrieved by the agents at sea. The individuals responsible for the vessel managed to abandon it and flee on land, although the boat has been confiscated and is under judicial custody.

Ongoing Investigations

Investigations are ongoing to try to locate the individuals who fled after the incident. For more information about this operation, you can contact the communication office of the Civil Guard in Huelva at the phone number 959241900.
