The 19th stage of the Vuelta a España will traverse the municipality of Ronda this Friday, September 11, without entering the town centre. The passage is expected around 15:10, with traffic disruptions on the ring road.
The Traffic Councillor of Ronda, Jorge Fernández, has informed about the traffic disruptions that will occur this Friday, September 11, due to the passage of the 19th stage of the Vuelta a España, which will start from Vélez-Málaga and finish in Peñas Blancas (Estepona).
The race will enter the municipality coming from Puerto del Viento and the road from El Burgo, and will continue along the ring road towards San Pedro, without entering the town centre. The passage of the cyclists is expected around 15:10, although the timing may vary depending on the pace of the race. Therefore, the ring road will remain closed to traffic approximately half an hour to an hour before the passage.
As a novelty, the advertising caravan, consisting of 22 vehicles, will enter the town centre about an hour before the cyclists, between 14:00 and 14:30, and will be located on Avenida de Málaga, near the CPD.
Fernández has encouraged fans, especially younger ones, to come and see the caravan and receive the gifts and promotional products that will be distributed. He has also invited people to follow the Vuelta's passage from points such as the San Pedro road, the ring road, the road from El Burgo, and Puerto del Viento.
On the same day, Ronda will host the IV Mountain, Canyoning and Caving Conference, with temporary road closures around Puente Nuevo, Calle Virgen de la Paz, and Calle Armiñán, approximately between 10:00 and 13:30. Police and Firefighters exhibitions are expected.
