The Town Hall of Alhaurín el Grande has increased the daily capacity of the new outdoor pool and the Water Park from 250 to 280 places since July 31, after surpassing 6,000 bookings in July.
The new municipal outdoor pool and the Water Park of Alhaurín el Grande have expanded their daily capacity from July 31 to respond to the high number of users who have enjoyed these facilities during the first month of the summer season. The measure, driven by the Sports Department of the Town Hall of Alhaurín el Grande, will increase the number of available places each day by 30, from the initial 250 to a total of 280 people per day.
This was announced by the Sports Councillor, Sergio Rodríguez, who has made a very positive assessment of the service's operation during the month of July, highlighting the excellent reception it has had among residents and visitors.
According to data collected by the Sports Department, the new municipal outdoor pool and the Water Park registered more than 6,000 bookings during July, a figure that demonstrates the significant use these facilities are receiving as spaces for leisure, sport, and socialising during the summer months.
In light of this high demand, the Town Hall has decided to increase the daily capacity to facilitate access for a greater number of users while maintaining safety, comfort, and quality of service.
The Sports Councillor has stated that this decision reflects the municipal commitment to adapt public services to the needs of citizens, optimising available resources to provide better service during one of the busiest periods for sports facilities.
The Sports Department reminds users that to access the new outdoor municipal pool, it is essential to book a place in advance using the Cronos application.
To do this, users must download the app for free (available for both Android and iOS) and complete the corresponding registration and profile verification with the Sports Department offices. This system also allows for managing access to the rest of the municipal sports facilities, streamlining bookings and improving service organisation.
The Town Hall encourages all users to utilise this tool, which facilitates a more efficient management of the facilities and allows real-time knowledge of available places.
In addition to general use by the public, the municipal pool continues to host activities for various groups in Alhaurín el Grande, which use the facilities at specific times compatible with public opening, such as members of the Summer Camp, the municipal gymnastics group for seniors, or some users from the Fahala Occupational Centre.
In this way, the Town Hall maintains its commitment to promote access to sports practice and healthy leisure for both the general population and associations and groups in the municipality, ensuring a balanced and efficient use of this new municipal equipment throughout the summer season.
The increase in capacity is a relief for residents who in recent weeks had seen available places quickly run out, especially during weekends and in the afternoon. With this measure, the council hopes that more families can enjoy the facilities without having to wait in long queues.
The opening hours remain from 12:00 to 20:00, and bookings can be made up to seven days in advance through the application. The Town Hall recommends planning visits in advance to secure the desired place.
