The Plenary of the Alhaurín el Grande Town Hall has given the green light to a budget modification of over 1.9 million euros. The funds, coming from the State, the Provincial Council, and the Junta, will be allocated to repairs, investments, and updating the project for the Villa del Guadalhorce road.
The Alhaurín el Grande Town Hall approved in the Plenary on 30 September a budget modification exceeding 1.9 million euros. The operation incorporates income from three administrations: the Government of Spain contributes around 903,000 euros, the Provincial Council of Málaga 645,000 euros, and the Junta de Andalucía 142,425 euros through a grant.
The mayor, Anthony Bermúdez, has pointed out that this extraordinary injection allows the municipal investment effort to be maintained. “We are talking about the good health of the municipal coffers and therefore an investment effort by the Alhaurín el Grande Town Hall that will be able to continue in the coming months,” he declared.
The councillor for Finance, Luis Miguel Molina, reminded that this modification comes after the incorporation in July of two million euros from the central Government to repair the damages from the DANA. “Today we have presented this new budget modification in the municipal plenary after the good news from July,” he noted.
Among the planned actions, the councillor for Public Works, Teresa Sánchez, detailed the repairs in the area of calle La Cruz, the repair of the wall of the cemetery, and the improvement of the raised crossings near the health centre, which currently cause inconvenience to vehicles. Funding will also be allocated to rural roads, parks, and green areas.
One of the highlighted points is the economic update of the project for the Villa del Guadalhorce road, which increases its budget by almost 220,000 euros to adapt it to current prices and prevent the tender from being deserted. Sánchez explained that this adaptation responds to the increase in costs “that currently affects works and their execution, both from the perspective of companies and the public administrations themselves.”
“Once again, we are pleased to incorporate into the municipal budget and municipal coffers funding coming from the Government of Spain, which is providing more resources to all municipalities in the country, including, as it could not be otherwise, Alhaurín el Grande.”
The councillor has emphasised the municipal work to locate and request lines of grants that allow financing for projects of municipal competence. With this operation, the Town Hall strengthens its capacity to undertake investments and repairs in the coming months.
