The Plenary of the Fuengirola City Council has approved the detailed study of the SUNC-13 sector in Cerro del Agua, which will allow the construction of 111 Officially Protected Housing units in two blocks in Los Pacos.
The Plenary of the Fuengirola City Council approved this Wednesday the detailed study of the urban planning area SUNC-13 of the General Plan, located in the area known as Cerro del Agua, in Los Pacos. The vote passed with the favourable votes of PP, PSOE, and Vox, and the rejection of Hacemos Fuengirola.
The development of this sector is governed by an urban agreement that obliges its signing company, AGP Real Estate 6, S. L., to promote 111 Officially Protected Housing units on two plots totalling 7,783.01 square meters. The development is divided into two blocks: one with 81 flats and another with 30.
The approved document enables the company that owns the land to develop a sector of more than 30,000 square meters where just over 300 homes will be built. Of that total, nearly 8,000 square meters are reserved for the two social housing promotions.
“So far in this term, the government team has built and delivered a total of 65 Municipal Support Housing units to families and young people in Fuengirola in different areas of the city, and we are bidding for the construction of at least another 65. Today, in partnership with the private sector, we are going to make available to the residents of Fuengirola who have difficulties accessing this fundamental good 111 social housing flats,” stated the Councillor for Housing, Rocío Arriaga.
The mayor, Ana Mula, praised the agreement with the developer: “It is fantastic news that private promotion is committed to the development of this type of initiative. Together with my team's decisive action for the construction of Municipal Support Housing, we are responding to the real need that exists at this time on a general level.”
Since the beginning of this term, the City Council has delivered 65 Municipal Support Housing units to residents in vulnerable situations. The first were 26 on Comunera María Pacheco street in Los Pacos; another 15 were delivered on Aliaria street in the same neighbourhood, and the 24 most recent were delivered last July on Begoña de Carvajal street.
These 65 will be joined by at least another 65 that the City Council is bidding for on two municipal plots on Oropéndola street in Torreblanca. All are granted according to the Housing Applicant Ordinance to young people, families, and elderly individuals living alone, under a temporary affordable rental scheme, with periodic reviews until the economic situation of the recipient allows them to access the free market.
