The Alhaurín el Grande Town Hall has put out to tender the works to solve the leaks in the roof of pavilion 2 of the sports centre, fully funded by the Spanish Government.

The Alhaurín el Grande Town Hall has initiated the tendering process for the repair works of the roof of pavilion 2 of the Municipal Sports Centre. The project, with a budget of 282,000 euros, aims to eliminate the water leaks that worsened after the episodes of rain and DANA recorded between late 2025 and early 2026.

The Councillor for Public Works, Teresa Sánchez, explained that these weather phenomena caused significant damage to the roof, increasing the existing leaks. "With this action, we aim to repair the roof and prevent water leaks so that the pavilion can be used permanently throughout the year," the councillor stated.

The project will be fully funded by the Spanish Government, through the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, as part of a global grant of around 10.1 million euros awarded to the municipality to repair damage from the DANA and improve infrastructures. Thus, the cost of this work will not entail a direct outlay for the municipal coffers.

Deadline for submitting offers

The Councillor for Finance, Luis Miguel Molina, has informed that the tendering procedure has been open since July 27. Interested companies have until August 17 to submit their offers, a period of 20 calendar days. Those needing clarifications or additional documentation can request it until August 11.

The submission of offers must be done exclusively by electronic means, through the Public Administration Contracting Portal. It is essential that companies are registered on the platform and that all documentation is digitally signed.

The Town Hall encourages local, provincial, regional, and national construction companies to participate in the tender.

Evaluation of proposals

Bidders must submit two electronic envelopes. The first will include the administrative documentation and a construction report that will be valued with a maximum of 30 points by the municipal technical services. The second envelope will contain the economic offer, which can score up to 50 points, and improvements, such as an extension of the warranty period, which grants up to 20 additional points.

The award will go to the offer with the highest overall score. Once the contract is signed, the works will have a maximum execution period of 76 days, about two and a half months, so the work could be completed before winter, when the facility sees its highest usage.

The winning company must provide a guarantee and have civil liability insurance of at least 600,000 euros, according to the conditions of the tender.

Pavilion 2 is a facility widely used by the residents of Alhaurín el Grande, so the repair will allow it to maintain its sports activities throughout the year without interruptions due to adverse weather conditions.
