The Mijas Town Hall has reopened the tender for the renovation of the roofs of the Las Lagunas pool and pavilion for 1.2 million euros, with a deadline until August 10.
The Mijas Town Hall has urgently reactivated the tender to renew the roofs of the Las Lagunas pool and sports pavilion. The starting budget is 1.2 million euros and interested companies have until next August 10 to submit their bids.
The pool has been closed to the public for months due to the poor condition of the roof, which forced users to relocate to the La Cala facility. The new call comes after the first tender was left vacant when it was found that the only bidding company did not meet the required financial solvency.
The project, commissioned by the Infrastructure delegation, includes the replacement of sandwich panels, the repair of auxiliary structural elements, and the renewal of the waterproofing system and rainwater drainage. Inspections detected rusting screws, degradation of the roof, gutters, and downspouts, as well as issues with insulation.
The work will be carried out in a localized manner, respecting the components that are in good condition to ensure the structural continuity of the whole. Once the new roof is completed, the rainwater collection system will be renewed.
The governing team assures that the urgent procedure will allow for faster timelines and to start the works as soon as possible. The expectation is that, once the work is awarded, the pool can reopen its doors to the residents of Las Lagunas in the shortest time possible.
