Rincón de la Victoria inaugurates this Tuesday its Victoriano Anchovy Festival with a showcooking by chef Enrique Sánchez, opening an edition that celebrates a decade of live cooking.
The mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, inaugurated this evening at La Calma Playa the new edition of the Victoriano Anchovy Festival, which takes place from September 8 to 13. The first showcooking was led by chef and communicator Enrique Sánchez.
This edition commemorates the tenth anniversary of live cooking linked to the festival, an initiative that, according to Salado, "has become one of the hallmarks" of the celebration and an "extraordinary tool for promoting our gastronomy."
"The Victoriano anchovy is not just a product we put on a plate. It is a piece of Rincón de la Victoria," the mayor pointed out.
Salado especially thanked Enrique Sánchez for being the one to open this edition, highlighting his "ability to bring gastronomy to people, to tell its story, and to help us understand that behind every product there is a story."
This year's programme is once again structured around three pillars: live cooking, the Sabor a Málaga Fair, and the participation of the municipality's restaurant network, which will offer their own gastronomic proposals centred around the Victoriano anchovy. The activities are aimed at both locals and visitors, with tastings and proposals in public spaces.
The mayor emphasized that the festival "has grown alongside our hoteliers and restaurateurs" and that the anchovy "comes out of the kitchens to also occupy our streets and public spaces."
