The municipality will host a new edition of the ASALBEZ charity event on Friday 25th September, dedicated this year to cinema under the theme 'Dress up like a movie against forgetfulness'. The event, from 20:00 to 00:00 hours, will include a red carpet, performances, and a solidarity raffle.
Rincón de la Victoria will celebrate the next Friday 25th September a new edition of the charity event of the Association of Family Members and Caregivers of Alzheimer’s Patients and other Dementias of Rincón de la Victoria (ASALBEZ), which this year carries the slogan 'Dress up like a movie against forgetfulness'.
The initiative, promoted by the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall along with ASALBEZ, has the support of the Department of Seniors and the collaboration of the Trade Area. The event will take place from 20:00 to 00:00 hours and will begin with the reception of attendees, who will find a red carpet, a photocall, and an atmosphere inspired by the world of cinema.
During the evening, there will be musical performances, activities, raffles, and solidarity proposals. The program includes a performance by Miguel Botana, a raffle with gifts donated by collaborating companies and shops, and a costume contest with a cinematic theme. A video about the work of ASALBEZ will also be screened to bring the reality of people with dementia and their families closer to the community.
The Councillor for Seniors, Nacho Cuadra, has pointed out that the aim goes beyond the event itself.
“It’s not just about organising an event, but about ensuring that society understands Alzheimer’s better and that ASALBEZ can continue its important work.”
The mayor, Francisco Salado, has highlighted the daily work of the association with patients and, especially, with their families, and has defended the need to maintain awareness and citizen participation initiatives.
“Alzheimer’s not only affects those who suffer from it but also their entire environment. That’s why it’s essential for administrations, associations, and civil society to continue working together to improve the quality of life for affected individuals and their caregivers.”
The president of ASALBEZ, María Jesús Román, has thanked the support of the Town Hall and collaborators, and has encouraged residents to participate.
“Behind this party, there are many hours of work, enthusiasm, and commitment. We want people to get involved, to dress up like a movie, and to come enjoy, but above all, to understand that every contribution counts and that collaborating with ASALBEZ means directly helping individuals and families who need support.”
Institutional representatives, families, professionals, volunteers, collaborating companies, and residents of the municipality are invited to the event. The party will be held on Friday 25th September, from 20:00 to 00:00 hours, in Rincón de la Victoria.
