The Málaga municipality will celebrate the performances of 'La boda de Luis Alonso' and 'Los Gavilanes' on August 28 and 29, with tickets starting from 16 euros.
Rincón de la Victoria is preparing for a new edition of its Zarzuela Festival, which this year will bring two emblematic titles of the Spanish lyrical genre. The Town Hall, through the Culture Department, has scheduled the performances of La boda de Luis Alonso and Los Gavilanes for August 28 and 29, at the CEIP Manuel Laza Palacio.
The outdoor performances will be carried out by the Teatro Lírico Andaluz company, a specialized group with over two decades of experience. On this occasion, the production will bring together more than 80 professionals, including orchestra musicians, choir members, soloists, and technical teams for costumes and lighting.
The Councillor for Culture, Paz Couto, has highlighted the satisfaction of once again having this company and two works that are “so beloved” by the audience. “We want the public to enjoy the music, the voices, and the staging of a company specialized in this genre during the summer nights,” she noted.
For his part, the mayor, Francisco Salado, emphasized the importance of “continuing to bring quality cultural proposals to our neighbours and visitors.” In his opinion, zarzuela is part of the musical heritage, and these performances allow for the enjoyment of great works in a close and attractive format.
The manager of Teatro Lírico Andaluz, Pablo Prados, thanked the Town Hall for its constant support over more than two decades, as well as the warm welcome from the local audience, who “year after year demonstrate their affection for this genre.”
La boda de Luis Alonso, a zarzuela in one act with music by Gerónimo Giménez and a libretto by Javier de Burgos, and Los Gavilanes, a work by Jacinto Guerrero with a libretto by Fernando Luque and Antonio Paso, are two classic titles from the Spanish lyrical repertoire. The staging promises to be grand, with a wide artistic and technical display.
Tickets for the festival are already on sale. The price is 16 euros in advance and 18 euros at the box office.
