The Palacio de la Paz in Fuengirola will host the performance of 'La Tabernera del Puerto' by Teatro Lírico Andaluz on November 7 at 20:00 hours. Tickets cost €10 in the stalls and €15 in the boxes.
The Palacio de la Paz in Fuengirola will be the venue on November 7 for the zarzuela 'La Tabernera del Puerto', which the company Teatro Lírico Andaluz will stage starting at 20:00 hours. This was presented on Thursday by the Councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, and the director of the company, Pablo Prados.
The work, premiered in 1936, is a zarzuela in three acts with music by Pablo Sorozábal and a libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández-Shaw. The action takes place in Cantabreda, an imaginary fishing port in northern Spain, amidst clandestine dealings and a maritime atmosphere.
The plot revolves around Marola, the young woman who runs the port tavern, and Leandro, a fisherman in love with her. They are joined by Juan de Eguía, a veteran seaman linked to smuggling who tries to manipulate events. The storyline combines love, jealousy, intrigue, and chases, culminating in Marola's liberation from Eguía's influence.
Tickets are already on sale at the website entradas.fuengirola.es, at the information point of the Centro Comercial Miramar, and at the box office of the Palacio de la Paz before the performance, subject to availability. Prices are €10 for the stalls and €15 for the boxes.
