The Civil Guard has completed the search at Frigiliana Town Hall (Málaga) without arrests, after more than thirteen hours of inspection under a court order.
The Civil Guard concluded the search at the Frigiliana Town Hall premises around 10:30 PM on Tuesday, an operation that lasted over thirteen hours and is part of an investigation into possible crimes of misconduct and misappropriation of public funds. The operation, coordinated by the Investigating Court number 1 of Torrox, has not resulted in any arrests, according to sources from the investigation.
The agents accessed the home of the mayor, Alejandro Herrero (PSOE), around 9:00 AM, and later moved to the Town Hall, where the mayor was present throughout the operation. The search was conducted discreetly, with agents inside the facilities and minimal presence outside, as the Town Hall remained closed to the public and inaccessible to workers.
During the inspection, investigators gathered information in various formats and photocopied numerous documents that will be analysed to determine if any irregularities have occurred. The court has ordered the proceedings to be kept confidential, so no details have been provided regarding the specific object of the investigation.
