The municipality of Comares, with just 1,300 inhabitants, offers its municipal pool at prices starting from 1 euro for children and 2 euros for adults, with reduced rates in the afternoon. Open every day until 20:00.

Comares, one of the smallest villages in the province of Málaga, has become the star destination for those looking to take a dip without spending a fortune. Its municipal pool, inaugurated on June 21, offers tickets from just 1 euro for children aged 4 to 14, while adults pay 2 euros. This pricing makes it the cheapest in the entire province and probably in Andalucía.

An oasis at a laughable price

The pool, located on Calle Encinillas, features two pools: one recreational and another for children. Surrounding it, the Town Hall has installed grass, sun loungers, umbrellas, and pergolas for locals and visitors to enjoy the day. The facility is open from Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 20:00, and on weekends from 12:00 to 20:00.

But the best part comes in the afternoon: those wanting to save even more can enter from 18:00 for just 1 euro, thanks to a reduced rate designed for the late hours of the day. A bargain for those who work in the morning or prefer the late afternoon sun.

A refuge for the village and its visitors

With just over 1,300 registered inhabitants, Comares is not exactly a city, but its pool attracts people from all over the Axarquía region. The Town Hall promotes it as the ideal place to "combat the heat and enjoy great moments with family and friends." And they are not wrong: with these prices, taking a dip costs less than a coffee.

That said, don’t expect luxury: the facility is municipal, with just the essentials but well-maintained. Tickets are purchased at the ticket office, without prior reservation, so those wanting to secure a spot should arrive early, especially on weekends.

Comparison: where is the competition?

While other public pools on the coast charge around 3 or 4 euros, Comares stays at 2 for adults. And with the reduced rate, the euro becomes king. For a family of four, an afternoon of swimming costs 4 euros (two adults and two children with reduced rates), which represents considerable savings compared to other options.

The pool will remain open until the end of summer, although the Town Hall has not specified a closing date. What is clear is that as long as the thermometer exceeds 30 degrees, Comares will be the place to escape without emptying your wallet.
