The Virgen del Carmen I and II pool complex in Torremolinos will reopen next Tuesday, 1st September, following around twenty maintenance, cleaning, and improvement works.
The Virgen del Carmen I and II pool complex in Torremolinos will open its doors next Tuesday 1st September after a month of closure during which the Town Hall has carried out nearly twenty maintenance, cleaning, and improvement works.
The works, coordinated by the Public Services delegation, included the replacement of the shower controls in the male and female changing rooms of the 50-metre pool with a more modern model.
Additionally, the ceiling lights have been replaced with LEDs throughout the complex, which will allow for greater energy and economic savings. Maintenance work has also been carried out on the lights in the common areas.
In terms of painting, work has been done on the boilers, in both pools, on the beam structure of the 25-metre pool, and on the non-slip flooring of the ground floor of the building.
The flooring of the corridor in the monitors' and SOS changing rooms has been replaced, as well as the air extraction grilles, filter spider 1 and 3, sand filter replaced with glass, footbath stones, the 25 pressure group motor, the perimeter grille of the spas, and the dehumidifying rods of the tube plates.
The bottom of the 50-metre pool has also been emptied and repaired, new inspection chambers have been installed in the basement of the 25-metre pool area, both in male and female changing rooms, and broken tiles in common areas have been repaired along with the lockers.
During the closure of the indoor pools, annual maintenance has been carried out, which includes cleaning air systems, spa repairs, cleaning and disinfecting the spa pools, refilling filters, cleaning shower heads and taps, and cleaning bottoms and repairing tiles.
Outside the complex, cleaning tasks have been carried out on the pavement and facade, as well as painting of road markings.
These facilities host numerous activities offered by the Sports delegation throughout the year and are the venue for prominent sporting competitions.
