The City Council of Antequera, through the Youth Area, has organised two parties for Friday, August 7, at the Malaje VIP Club tent in the fairgrounds to commemorate International Youth Day. The first, alcohol-free, is aimed at minors aged between 12 and 17.
The Youth Area of the City Council of Antequera has presented the programme for International Youth Day, which will take place next Friday, August 7, at the Malaje VIP Club tent in the fairgrounds. The delegated councillor for Youth, Marta González, detailed in a press conference the planned activities, which include an alcohol-free party for minors with an entry price of €3.50.
International Youth Day is officially commemorated every August 12, but the City Council has brought the event forward to Friday the 7th to fit it into the summer activity calendar. The chosen venue, the Malaje VIP Club tent, is the same space that will host the Real Feria de Agosto de Antequera weeks later.
The first of the two scheduled parties will be dedicated to young people aged between 12 and 17 and will take place from 21:30 to 00:00 hours. The entry fee of €3.50 includes a soft drink and aims to provide a safe environment that promotes healthy leisure alternatives among minors. The music will be provided by a DJ, and attendees will be able to participate in a glitter and fluorescent painting workshop, enjoy a themed photocall, and access areas with hot dogs and popcorn. The City Council has also arranged photography and video services to capture the evening, as well as surprises that will be revealed throughout the night.
Once the youth party concludes and the tent is adapted, a second party aimed at young people aged 17 and over will start at 00:30 hours, with free entry until capacity is reached and a programme that will extend into the early hours. One of the highlights will be the Hora Loca, featuring three themed sessions that will include costumed entertainers, visual effects, confetti, LED lighting, and glow-in-the-dark items, transforming the dance floor with a different staging for each segment. The continuous musical session provided by a DJ will complete the offering.
Marta González wanted to convey a message of reassurance to families, reminding them that previous alcohol-free parties organised by the Youth Area have been conducted without any issues. The municipal objective, as she indicated, is to continue providing safe, inclusive, and quality leisure alternatives so that young people can share experiences and enjoy their free time.
This event adds to the catalogue of activities that the Youth Area programmes each summer in Antequera, in a context where the City Council has strengthened the offer of alcohol-free nightlife for minors in recent years as an alternative to other models of entertainment. Registrations and ticket purchases for the alcohol-free youth party can be made at the Youth House. For more information, you can call 952 708 320.
