The artist Ángel Calle has created the official image of the Real Feria de Agosto de Antequera 2026, presented tonight in the courtyard of San Juan de Dios.
The courtyard of the municipal building of San Juan de Dios hosted the presentation of the announcing poster for the Real Feria de Agosto de Antequera 2026 on Friday, July 31, a work by the artist Ángel Calle that was unveiled by Francisco Ruiz in a solemn intervention.
The event was presided over by the mayor of Antequera, Manolo Barón, and the deputy mayor in charge of Major Festivals, Traditions, and Flamenco Promotion, Elena Melero. Also in attendance were the first secretary of the Table of the Parliament of Andalusia, José Ramón Carmona; the territorial delegate of Development of the Junta in Málaga, María Rosa Morales; and the vice president of the Provincial Council and first deputy mayor, Juan Rosas.
Calle's composition features three female figures dressed in different eras, united by elegance and elements such as the shawl or the fan. The ensemble is completed with a night view of Antequera, highlighting the illuminated monumental profile of the city.
At the bottom, the coat of arms of Antequera and the name of the Real Feria appear, with a personal typography and a colour palette where orange and yellow tones stand out against a dark background. The work thus offers an artistic vision in which history, tradition, and local identity coexist.
Francisco Ruiz was responsible for detailing the nuances and meanings of the poster, highlighting the author's trajectory and the uniqueness of the festival. The mayor and the deputy mayor congratulated Ángel Calle for turning his work into the official image of the city's main celebration.
With this unveiling, Antequera begins the countdown to its Real Feria de Agosto 2026, which will once again offer a wide range of cultural, musical, and traditional activities for residents and visitors throughout August.
