Mayor Manolo Barón describes the edition as "the fair for everyone" after five days of massive participation. Juan Magán's concert attracted over 20,000 people at the Fairgrounds.
The Real Feria de Agosto de Antequera 2026 has concluded its edition with a balance that the mayor, Manolo Barón, described on Monday as "historic" due to the public turnout. The mayor, accompanied by the deputy mayor of Major Festivals, Elena Melero, and the head of Security, Antonio García Mendoza, presented the data from a celebration that ended last night after five intense days.
Barón defined this edition as "the fair for everyone", highlighting participation in both the Paseo Real and the booths in the centre and at the Fairgrounds. According to the municipal balance, at certain times figures were reached that had not been seen in decades.
"Antequera has filled up, its streets have filled up, its Paseo Real has filled up, and its Fairgrounds have filled up."
On Saturday night, the concert by Juan Magán gathered a crowd: the mayor estimated between 10,000 and 13,000 people just in the concert area, and over 20,000 the total presence throughout the venue. These figures place this performance among the most attended in the history of the fair, alongside those of Carlos Baute or La Oreja de Van Gogh.
During the Day Fair, the Paseo Real became a "boulevard of coexistence" with traditional activities, dancing, singing, and gastronomy. Thousands of people participated in the National Porra Antequerana Contest and the Flamenco and Short Costume Contest, among other proposals. There was also space for the elderly, with initiatives from the Elderly Area so that residents of city centres could enjoy the daytime activities.
In total, 25 booths were set up in various fair spaces, with the involvement of brotherhoods, clubs, collectives, local businesses, and artists, as the mayor expressed gratitude.
The 2026 edition has been marked by inclusion. The ADIPA Proclamation, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, was one of the most emotional moments; Barón assures that "it will mark a before and after". The inaugural event also featured Inclusive Flamenco, and at the closing, the traditional fireworks display was replaced for the first time by a drone show, a preventive measure against fire risks and a commitment to a more accessible celebration.
The final night featured performances by Joana Jiménez and Falete, who brought the five days of festivities to a close.
In the bullfighting chapter, the Bullfighting Fair recorded high attendance, with tickets exceeding three-quarters of the capacity of the Bullring during the festivities on Saturday and Sunday. The mayor highlighted the triumph of David de Miranda in the Goyesca Bullfight.
To ensure mobility, four tourist trains operated throughout the fair. The security, emergency, and health assistance device included over 300 personnel, coordinated among administrations, security forces, and involved services.
Barón wanted to thank the work of the municipal areas of Major Festivals and Security, as well as maintenance, Parks and Gardens, electricity, and Aguas del Torcal, along with the Police, Civil Protection, and health services. He also had words for the Fair Manager, Macarena Espinar, and her Manolas.
"I am very satisfied and very proud of the development and outcome of the Real Feria de Agosto this year 2026."
The mayor assured that Antequera has "a successful fair model" that consolidates as one of the main festive celebrations in Andalusia.
