The Torremolinos Town Hall has installed two modules of smart lockers at Playamar and La Carihuela for storing belongings and charging mobile phones, powered by solar energy and featuring an SOS point.

The Torremolinos Town Hall has launched two modules of smart lockers, known as Smart Beach Lockers, on the beaches of Playamar and La Carihuela. The service allows bathers to securely store their belongings and charge electronic devices.

These modules operate with energy autonomy thanks to solar panels integrated into the roof, and also include an automatic external defibrillator and an SOS alert point. Their portable design allows for relocation according to seasonal needs or events.

The lockers feature compartments of various sizes: large for umbrellas or chairs, medium for bags or towels, and small for personal items. The opening is electronic and is managed through the Novality mobile app, with a web management platform.

The investment has been €62,797.79, taxes included, and is part of the 'Torremolinos, Intelligent Paradise' Sustainable Tourism Plan, funded by the European Union with Next-GenerationEU funds.

With this initiative, the municipality aims to provide a safer and more comfortable beach experience, enhance security along the coastline, and move towards a smart destination model. Users can already use the service in the two busiest beach areas of Torremolinos.
