The municipal auditorium Miguel González Berral in La Muralla hosts four free performances from September 24 to 27, all at 21:00. This cultural event celebrates its 40th edition with works ranging from drama to humour and contemporary opera.
The Villa de Mijas Theatre Festival returns with its 40th edition and four scheduled performances from September 24 to 27 at the municipal auditorium Miguel González Berral in La Muralla. All performances will begin at 21:00 with free admission until capacity is reached.
The Councillor for Culture, Juan Carlos Maldonado, has presented the poster and noted that the programme covers everything from drama to humour, including bittersweet comedy and contemporary opera.

The programme kicks off on Thursday 24 with the local company Teatro Mijas and their production ‘Eterno Lorca’, a tribute to the Granada author featuring excerpts from works such as ‘La casa de Bernarda Alba’, ‘Yerma’, ‘María Pineda’ and ‘Bodas de sangre’.
On Friday 25, ‘Yo sólo quiero irme a Francia’ takes the stage, featuring María Galiana, Nieve de Medina, Anna Mayo and María Roja. The play addresses identity, abandonment, and emotional inheritance between generations, using humour as a defence against pain.
On Saturday 26, ‘Survival’ arrives, an apocalyptic comedy starring a brilliant but maladjusted character who faces an alleged global collapse through social media and their virtual community.
The festival concludes on Sunday 27 with ‘The ópera locos’, a comedic operatic show with international projection in which five opera singers blend great hits from the genre with other styles, gestural comedy, and clowning.
The four performances will take place in the outdoor auditorium of the venue. Admission is free and open to all audiences.
