Málaga, 21 September 2026. The Junta of Andalucía has launched a new grant call, known as MEINFRA, aimed at local entities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants in the province of Málaga. This initiative has a budget of 537,981.23 euros, intended to improve infrastructure and public services in the smallest municipalities.
Objective of the call
The territorial delegate for Local Administration, Belén Rubio, has stated that these grants will prioritise those municipalities that require more urgent attention due to their economic, demographic, and territorial needs. This programme is part of a broader regional framework, where the total allocation exceeds 4.5 million euros.
With a 13% increase compared to previous calls, these grants are intended to finance various local investments, from the acquisition of equipment and machinery to the execution of works in public buildings, thus contributing to improving the quality of life of their inhabitants.
Evaluation criteria and deadlines
The grants will be awarded through a competitive bidding process, in which criteria such as unemployment, budgetary capacity, as well as territorial and demographic factors will be evaluated. The aim is to ensure that these resources reach the municipalities where they are most needed.
Furthermore, the grants may also be applied to initiatives that promote economic activity and job creation, as well as to investment studies for public services.
The deadline for submitting applications will be open for 15 calendar days from the publication of the call in the Official Bulletin of the Junta of Andalucía (BOJA). The management of the applications must be carried out electronically through the Virtual Office of the corresponding Department.
