A collision between two vehicles recorded at 7:24 AM this Wednesday is complicating traffic on the A-7 as it passes through La Cala de Mijas. The incident, which occurred at kilometre 1025, has forced the left lane towards Cádiz to be closed and is causing at least four kilometres of traffic jams during peak hours, according to data from the Traffic Management Centre reported by Diario Sur.
The incident affects the stretch of La Cala de Mijas between kilometres 1022.15 and 1025.00, a distance of 2.85 kilometres. The DGT has been aware of the situation since 7:26 AM and also reports closed lanes on the A-7 at the height of Riviera del Sol and Calahonda.
The area around Mijas, Ojén, and Monda is experiencing a challenging day for drivers. Over the last hour, up to four significant incidents have been recorded, with traffic accidents, jams, and dense traffic as the main problems. The most affected roads are the A-7 and the A-355.
On the A-355, slow traffic extends between kilometres 29.50 and 31.50 as it passes through Ojén, with slow movement since 7:22 AM. In Monda, congestion affects the stretch between kilometres 18.00 and 23.00, five kilometres with slowed progress since 6:50 AM due to the high volume of vehicles.
Drivers are advised to increase their safety distance and check alerts before setting off
The DGT advises checking the state of the roads before leaving and to exercise extreme caution in the affected stretches, especially on the A-7 between Calahonda and La Cala de Mijas, where the left lane remains closed towards Cádiz.
