On 6 November 2026, the Andalusian Government delegate, Patricia Navarro, participated in a business breakfast organised by the Association of Entrepreneurs of Vélez-Málaga (ACEV). During the event, Navarro emphasised the importance of the business sector in job creation and economic development in the province of Málaga.
Gratitude to local entrepreneurs
Navarro expressed her gratitude to the entrepreneurs for their effort and dedication. She highlighted that it is they who risk their assets to generate wealth and employment. "We are here to thank you and reaffirm our commitment to accompany you in your business ventures," she added.
The delegate also underscored the crucial role of Javier González de Lara, president of the CEM and CEA, in facilitating social dialogue between companies, unions, and public administrations.
Challenges and opportunities for the Axarquía
In her speech, Navarro addressed the challenges facing the Axarquía region, including the need for water resources and improving communications. She highlighted the importance of the duplication of the A-356 and requested progress on the expansion of the A-7.
Furthermore, the delegate also spoke about the Axarquía's capacity to diversify its economy beyond traditional sectors, such as agro-industry and quality tourism.
Finally, Navarro emphasised the importance of continuing to create favourable conditions for business development, reminding that Málaga has over 60,000 companies and a significant increase in self-employed workers in recent years.
