The town of Faura, in Valencia, has been the scene of the arrest of a fireworks technician who was storing nearly 400 kilos of explosive material without the safety measures required by regulations.
The arrest took place on 7 November 2026, following an investigation that arose from suspicions that a pyrotechnics worker might be storing explosive material clandestinely.
Dangerous storage
During the inspection of the warehouse, located on the ground floor in Faura, it was verified that the fireworks technician had various pyrotechnic items, gunpowder, and perchlorate accumulated without any authorization. The indiscriminate storage of these products poses a considerable risk to public safety.
Investigations suggest that the material may have been acquired illegally and it is suspected that it had been diverted from pyrotechnic shows for which he was contracted by other companies.
Legal consequences
The authorities have charged the detainee with two offenses: one for the deposit of explosives and another against collective safety. It is important to note that the individual already had a history of a similar offense that took place in Castellón.
The investigation has been carried out by agents from various units of the Valencia Command, and the proceedings have been presented to the Civil and Instruction Section of the Sagunto Plaza number 3 Court.
