The portal Idealista ranks Villa Bellagio, a palace in Marbella's Golden Mile, as the most expensive residence in the country, with a price of 70 million euros. It is followed by two other properties in Benahavís.
The luxury real estate market in the province of Málaga once again dominates the top positions in the national ranking. According to the study published this Wednesday by Idealista, the most expensive home in Spain is Villa Bellagio, a palace located in the Golden Mile of Marbella that is for sale for 70 million euros.
The property, which the portal describes as having "all the luxuries we can imagine," exceeds the second most expensive house in the country, located in Balearic Islands, by 24 million euros. The real estate company Engel & Völkers, which is managing its sale, defines it as "a testament to architectural brilliance and uncompromising luxury."
The palace was designed by architect Jesús del Valle, who received the Macael Award for Best Design of 2022 for this project, an award presented by the Kings of Spain. Del Valle also designed Villa Graciosa in the same area, which won the same award in 2017 and was sold in 2021 for 40 million euros.
Villa Bellagio sits on the largest private plot in the area, with 14,000 square meters, and has a built area of 5,600 square meters. The residence offers 13 suites ranging from 140 to 150 square meters each, a large living room with sea views, and a 22-meter pool that seems to merge with the horizon.
The lower level is dedicated to wellness, featuring a spa, heated indoor pool, traditional hammam, Finnish sauna, equipped gym, massage room, and hairdressing salon. There is also space for leisure: a billiards room, bar, professional double bowling alley, and a cinema room for 22 people. The main dining room accommodates 14 diners and is complemented by a 60-square-meter show kitchen.
The mansion integrates an advanced Vantage home automation system that controls climate, lighting, entertainment, and security, with Sonos audio equipment. Regarding vehicles, it features a museum-quality exhibition garage for 12 cars and an underground facility for 30 more.
The Idealista ranking includes two other properties from Málaga among the ten most expensive in Spain. In Benahavís, within the so-called Golden Triangle, is La Madrugada, a Hispano-Arab style estate with 17 rooms and views of the mountains and the sea, for sale at 34 million euros, placing it in fourth position. The seventh is another home also in Benahavís, with 2,200 square meters and a price of 27 million euros.
The other seven houses in the top ten are in the Balearic Islands: three in Palma de Mallorca and the rest in Pollença, Puigpunyent, Esporles, and Calvià, with prices ranging from 46 to 24.5 million euros.
For those interested in such assets, the sale of Villa Bellagio is managed by Engel & Völkers, which presents it as "a statement of grandeur, a milestone of architectural mastery, and undoubtedly one of the most exceptional estates in Marbella, if not all of Spain."
