The Park of Spain in Fuengirola will host a free concert on Tuesday, July 21, by the Municipal Band dedicated to the Valencian composer Ferrer Ferrán, one of the great figures in the band scene.

The musical event will start at 21:30 with free entry, as reported by the Councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero. The programme includes eight works by the composer, including pasodobles, symphonic poems, and fantasies.

A programme dedicated to the Valencian master

The first part of the concert will open with the pasodoble Los Barbas, followed by the symphonic poem La sombra del cruzado. After a break, the band will perform the medieval poem Juana de Arco, the Andalusian fantasy López Odero, and will close with Mar i Bel.

Romero highlighted that the concert "values the talent of one of the great Spanish composers for band" and will allow the audience to "experience some of his most emblematic works in such a special setting as the Park of Spain."

A band with prestige on the Costa del Sol

The Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola, founded in 1962, has become one of the reference formations on the Costa del Sol. Since 1997, under the direction of Alfredo Alarcón Campoy, it has offered over 300 concerts and has accumulated more than 2,090 performances. Its musical archive exceeds 1,100 printed works.

For the residents of Fuengirola, this event represents an opportunity to enjoy quality music outdoors, in the middle of summer and at no cost. The Park of Spain, located in the city centre, is a regular venue for cultural events that attracts audiences of all ages.

The legacy of Ferrer Ferrán

Ferrer Ferrán, a Valencian composer and conductor, is considered a key figure in the national and international band scene. His work ranges from pasodobles to highly complex symphonic poems. Tuesday's concert will allow attendees to immerse themselves in his creative universe.

"We invite all music lovers to enjoy this concert," said Romero, who encouraged residents and visitors to come to the Park of Spain. The evening promises to be a sonorous tribute to one of the great masters of band music.

Entry is free until capacity is reached. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a spot in this natural setting that, with the sunset in the background, offers an incomparable framework for music.
