On Tuesday, July 21 at 21:30, the park of Spain will host a free concert by the Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola dedicated to the Valencian composer Ferrer Ferrán.
Next Tuesday, July 21, the park of Spain in Fuengirola will become an open-air stage to pay tribute to one of the great names in band music: the Valencian composer and conductor Ferrer Ferrán. The event, organized by the Fuengirola City Council, will start at 21:30 and will be free of charge.
A programme dedicated to the Valencian master
The concert, performed by the Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola, will feature a selection of some of Ferrer Ferrán's most representative works. The first part will begin with the pasodoble Los Barbas, followed by the symphonic poem La sombra del cruzado. After a short break, the ensemble will perform the medieval poem Juana de Arco, the Andalusian fantasy López Odero, and will conclude with the Spanish fantasy Mar i Bel.
The Councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, has invited residents and visitors to enjoy this musical evening. “We invite all music lovers to enjoy this concert, which highlights the talent of one of the great Spanish composers for band,” he stated in a press release.
A band with history
The Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola, founded in 1962, has established itself as one of the leading ensembles on the Costa del Sol. Since 1997, under the direction of Alfredo Alarcón Campoy, it has offered over 300 concerts and performed more than 2,090 interpretations. Its music archive exceeds 1,100 printed works, making it a cultural pillar of the city.
For attendees, the concert will not only be an opportunity to listen to quality music but also to enjoy the natural surroundings of the park of Spain, a green space in the heart of Fuengirola ideal for summer nights.
