The Fuengirola City Council is offering free training in business English, basic digital skills, office automation, and artificial intelligence for unemployed individuals. The courses will take place between October and November at El Boquetillo and the Edificio de Colores.
The Fuengirola City Council has opened registration for four free training courses aimed at unemployed individuals. The programme, promoted by the Department of Training and Job Creation, will be held between October and November at the Tenencia de Alcaldía of El Boquetillo and the Edificio de Colores, with limited places available.
The councillor for the area, Isaac Vargas, presented this new offering on Monday, which includes business English, basic digital skills, intermediate office automation, and artificial intelligence. According to Vargas, the goal is for participants to enhance their skills to enter or re-enter the job market.
“We have designed a very practical programme that covers everything from basic digital skills to increasingly in-demand knowledge, such as the use of artificial intelligence,” Vargas stated.
The first course will be Business English, lasting 90 hours, focusing on negotiation, writing, and customer service with technical vocabulary. It will run from October 19 to November 10, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in Classroom 1 of El Boquetillo. Applications can be submitted from September 15 to October 9.
The Basic Digital Skills course, lasting 20 hours, will teach how to navigate the Internet safely, manage email, organise files in the cloud, and carry out online procedures such as banking operations or medical appointments. It will take place from October 26 to 29, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in Classroom 3 of the Edificio de Colores, with registrations open from September 28 to October 19.
The third training action is Intermediate Office Automation, also lasting 20 hours, for those who already have basic knowledge and want to advance in data and document management. It will be held from November 16 to 19, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in Classroom 3 of the Edificio de Colores, with the application period from October 26 to November 9.
The cycle will conclude with an introductory course on Artificial Intelligence, lasting 20 hours, covering the fundamentals of this technology, machine learning, and natural language processing, with practical applications in automation and decision support. The dates are from November 24 to 27, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in Classroom 3 of the Edificio de Colores, with registrations from November 3 to 17.
