The V Antequera Trail Race will be held on Saturday 28 November with the start and finish at Molino Blanco. Registrations open this Tuesday 15 September on the website of the Andalusian Athletics Federation, with a limit of 500 participants.

The fifth edition of the Antequera Trail Race now has a date: Saturday 28 November. The start and finish will be at Molino Blanco, next to the Nacimiento de la Villa, as announced this Monday by the deputy mayor for Sports, Juan Rosas, during the presentation of the event.

Registrations will open this Tuesday 15 September through the website of the Andalusian Athletics Federation. The total quota is 500 participants across all categories. Initial prices are 25 euros for the 24-kilometre race, 18 euros for the 14-kilometre race and hiking, 10 euros for under-18 and under-20, and 2 euros for the younger categories.

This year's main novelty is the inclusion of the event in the I Provincial Trail Cup of the Diputación de Málaga, promoted alongside the Andalusian Athletics Federation. The 24-kilometre race will be scored for this competition, which includes events in Antequera, Humilladero, Cártama and Nerja.

The programme maintains the two main races: 24 kilometres with 1,300 metres of positive elevation, and 14 kilometres. In addition, there will be a non-competitive hiking route of about 10 kilometres, a promotional event over the same distance, and races for minors with circuits adapted to their ages. The start of the long race will be at 9:00 hours; the 14-kilometre race at 9:30; and the hiking and promotional events at 10:00.

The event will also host the Andalusian Club Championships in absolute and master categories, and the Promotion Championship for under-18 and under-20. The president of the Andalusian Athletics Federation, Enrique López, reminded that athletes wishing to compete in the regional championships must register in advance for the race itself.

The race director, Antonio Cebrián, explained that the routes from the previous edition will be maintained around the Nacimiento de la Villa and the arroyo de las Adelfas. The long race will reach the area of Alhajuela and the foothills of the Sierra de las Cabras, with sections for running, trails, forest, and areas of greater technical difficulty. The short race will run through the same environment without accessing the higher areas.

The organisation has announced a runner's bag with a t-shirt and products, as well as refreshments. The event maintains its solidarity character: Aventura Solidaria will allocate funds to support therapy projects for children and to two families whose homes have suffered damage from the recent storms, as Miguel Redondo reminded.

Juanma Ruiz, president of the Club MataTrail, highlighted the entity's involvement in supporting the course, marking, and cleaning, and urged participants to respect the natural environment. The event is backed by the Diputación de Málaga and supported by Grupo Sancho Melero, Chirivo Construcciones, Metalplas 2020, Audiolís, and El Botijo de Andalucía, along with the collaboration of Sendero Sur. Daniel Sánchez-Garrido from Grupo Sancho Melero confirmed the presence of the mascot Supersancho to distribute mantecados during the day.

Registrations, regulations, and information on the different categories are available on the website of the Andalusian Athletics Federation starting this Tuesday 15 September.
