The mayor inaugurated the painter's exhibition yesterday, which brings together nearly thirty works and will be free to view until September 19.
The Cultural Centre Mirador del Carmen in Estepona hosts the exhibition 'From Figure to Matter' by painter Alejandro Hermann from this Wednesday. The exhibition was inaugurated yesterday by the mayor, José María García Urbano, and will be open to the public free of charge until September 19.
The exhibition features nearly thirty works that trace the evolution of the artist, from figuration to abstraction. Hermann's painting is characterised by a process of reduction: from figure to matter, from image to trace.
The artist works with charcoal, pigments, and oxides, constructing surfaces where each layer retains the mark of time. His pieces oscillate between figuration and abstraction, seeking a contemplative experience in which matter becomes the true pictorial language.
With over 40 years of experience, Hermann has explored a multitude of styles, materials, and techniques. His work has been exhibited in various locations across Spain and Europe and is part of collections in Marbella, Madrid, London, Paris, Vienna, St. Moritz, New York, Miami, Mexico City, Toronto, Lisbon, Casablanca, and Riyadh.
Additionally, the painter has collaborated on charitable projects with UNICEF, Lions Club, Fundación Padre Ostos, and CUDECA.
The exhibition can be visited during the usual hours of the cultural centre, with free entry. It is an opportunity for the residents of the Costa del Sol to engage with the work of an artist with international projection.
