The Equality Delegation opens the application period for the XXIII Businesswoman Award of Benalmádena, which increases its prize to 1,000 euros per category. Applications can be submitted until August 29.
The Equality Delegation of the Benalmádena City Council has opened the application period for the twenty-third edition of the Businesswoman Award, a competition aimed at recognising the work of female entrepreneurs in the municipality and strengthening the local business fabric. The announcement comes with a notable new feature: the financial prize increases from the 400 euros of the previous 22 editions to 1,000 euros per category.
The Councillor for Equality, Jésica Trujillo, presented the initiative at a press conference accompanied by representatives from collaborating entities such as the CADE of the Junta de Andalucía, ACEB, the Arroyo Benalmádena Association, and MDM. Trujillo emphasised that “female entrepreneurship is a growth engine for Benalmádena” and encouraged interested parties to submit their applications.
Eligible for the award are businesses located in Benalmádena whose owner is a woman or in which at least 51% of the effective participation belongs to women. Applications can be submitted until August 29 through the municipal electronic headquarters or by the means provided in the regulations.
The competition maintains its two categories: Individual Businesswoman and Businesswoman with Hired Staff. As a new feature, the winners will receive an identifying plaque to display outside their business, replacing the traditional trophy, with the aim of providing greater visibility to the recognition.
Additionally, the Equality Delegation has updated the rules to broaden the representation of the jury and has incorporated promotional, mentoring, and training actions for the winners, thanks to the collaboration of various entities in the municipality.
The complete rules and the application form are already available on the municipal website and at the Municipal Women's Centre. The City Council hopes that this edition will help boost female entrepreneurship and establish the award as a benchmark in the province.
