The City Council of Ronda is celebrating a free event that combines walking and cycling on Saturday 19th September, starting and finishing at Plaza Teniente Arce at 6:00 PM.
The City Council of Ronda has joined the European Mobility Week, which takes place from 16th to 22nd September, with an open and free day planned for Saturday 19th September starting at 6:00 PM. The activity will combine walking and cycling and will start and finish at Plaza Teniente Arce.
The proposal is aimed at people of all ages and levels. Collaborating in the organisation are Harman Bikes, Ronda Social Run, and X-Box, who have prepared a raffle with over a hundred prizes for participants, including t-shirts, water bottles, and socks from these entities, as well as other gifts.
The municipal delegate for Traffic and Mobility, Jorge Fernández, explained that sustainable mobility not only reduces emissions but also aims for a more comfortable, healthy, and friendly city. Fernández recalled measures promoted by the City Council, such as the regulation of personal mobility vehicles and the ongoing process of contracting fully electric urban buses, which will allow new units to operate in Ronda next year.

The councillor emphasised the importance of wearing helmets and reflective elements when cycling or using scooters. Santiago Ruiz highlighted that the activity is affordable for all levels and encouraged the people of Ronda to participate. Meanwhile, Germán Ruiz pointed out that the dimensions of Ronda allow for many daily trips to be made on foot or by bike, which helps to exercise, save time, and avoid traffic jams or difficulties in finding parking, as well as reducing pollution.
The event is on Saturday 19th September at 6:00 PM at Plaza Teniente Arce, with free and open participation and a raffle of over a hundred gifts among attendees.
