The night opening of the Manolo López pool attracted nearly 600 young people. The programme continues this week with a giant slide and canyoning.
The Verano Joven 2026 programme, promoted by the Ronda City Council, is in its final weeks with a balance that the Youth delegation considers very positive. Its head, Jorge Fernández, highlighted the almost full attendance recorded a few days ago at the night opening of the municipal Manolo López pool, which was attended by nearly 600 young people.
The activity mainly gathered boys and girls aged between 15 and 25, although there were also under-15s accompanied by their parents. According to Fernández, the atmosphere was healthy, with music, swimming, and food provided by the Asprodisis Foundation through the Ícara Centre. The councillor also highlighted the good reception of the first canyoning outing, held at the Sima del Diablo in Júzcar, where participants could practice this sport with all safety guarantees.
The next event will be this Wednesday, August 5, with the giant water slide, which will be installed on Andrés Aguilar Gracián street, next to San Rafael Park. The activity has moved its start time forward by one hour compared to last year: it will begin at 11:00 and end at 12:00, due to the high demand recorded in the previous edition. The City Council recommends that attendees bring their own float to speed up the waiting times. Additionally, two inflatable water castles will be set up in the park for the little ones.
On Friday, August 7, the second canyoning activity will take place, this time at La Buitreras, in the Guadiaro River. Registrations for both proposals are still open and can be formalised by sending an email to juventud@ronda.es or by calling the Ronda City Council directly.
