The Cordoban artist Fernando Somé presents in Málaga 'Indómito. Light, Shadow and Memory', an exhibition of 32 works that explore the life of the Alicante poet through painting, engraving and recycled materials.
The Cordoban visual artist Fernando Somé lands in Málaga with an exhibition that promises to move lovers of poetry and art. Under the title 'Indómito. Light, Shadow and Memory', the exhibition pays tribute to the Alicante poet Miguel Hernández, who passed away in 1942, and will be open to the public in the capital of Málaga starting next week.
The exhibition, which is part of the cultural programming of the Centro Cultural Generación del 27, brings together a total of 32 pieces of painting in small, medium and large formats. Each work develops the most important passages of Miguel Hernández Gilabert's life, from his childhood in Orihuela to his death in the Alicante prison.
An artistic proposal that transcends the canvas
Somé does not limit himself to painting. The exhibition includes a space intervention with complementary elements, including a goat sculpture that symbolizes the figure of the goatherd that Hernández was in his youth. Additionally, two extra pieces interpret the censorship and deprivation of freedom that the poet suffered, all made with recycled materials.
The Cordoban artist, who has had more than twenty solo exhibitions, has wanted to take his work to different cities to keep alive the memory of the author of 'The lightning that does not cease'. The exhibition has already passed through the Diputación de Córdoba and the RTVA headquarters in Seville, and now arrives in Málaga, where the public will be able to immerse themselves in a visual journey through the life and legacy of the poet.
A versatile artist with a unique stamp
Fernando Somé is a creator who has been growing in disciplines such as drawing, painting and calco-graphic engraving since 1998, a technique in which he explores its multiple facets. His work is characterized by a fusion of techniques and visual languages that connect directly with the viewer.
Among his milestones, his time at the Miguel Hernández House Museum in Orihuela stands out, a pilgrimage site for Hernández enthusiasts. Now, in Málaga, the public will have the opportunity to discover how the figure of the Alicante poet continues to inspire contemporary artists.
The exhibition 'Indómito' is not only a tribute but also a reflection on historical memory and the relevance of Hernández's message. At a time when culture seeks spaces for encounter, Somé offers a proposal that invites dialogue with the past from the present.
The people of Málaga and visitors will be able to enjoy this exhibition for free. The opening will take place next Friday at 20:00 at the Centro Cultural Generación del 27, located on Ollerías street. The exhibition will remain open until June 30, with hours from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00.
