The Local Government Board of Nerja has approved the hiring of 30 unemployed individuals with an investment of €634,760.40. The plan reserves quotas for youth, those over 60, and people with disabilities.
The Local Government Board of Nerja has given the green light to hire 30 unemployed people through the XI Municipal Employment Plan against Social Exclusion and Economic Vulnerability, a programme that will have an investment of €634,760.40.
The initiative aims to promote the employment of families in Nerja and the neighbouring Maro who are facing situations of particular economic hardship. The new contracts will be for labourers who will carry out cleaning and gardening tasks.
The councillor for Human Resources, Ángela Díaz, explained that the hires will be made following the order of the final list of accepted candidates. The plan establishes specific quotas to address the groups with the greatest barriers to accessing the labour market.
Thus, 25% of the hires are reserved for young people under 35 years old, 10% for people with disabilities, 50% for long-term unemployed individuals over 35 years old, and 15% for those over 60 years old.
“It is important to continue promoting municipal policies that, in addition to providing a job opportunity, contribute to improving the economic situation of families who need it the most,” Díaz noted.
The councillor emphasised that with this plan, the Town Hall of Nerja reaffirms its commitment to creating opportunities for those who face the greatest difficulties in entering the labour market.
The selected individuals will begin working once the contracts are formalised, which will be activated according to the order of the accepted list.
