The Civil Guard has arrested three individuals in Málaga related to eight mobile phone thefts in various stores located in the provinces of Seville and Córdoba. The thefts accumulated a total loot exceeding 29,000 euros.
Details of the thefts
The investigation began in July after a robbery was reported at a store in La Rinconada, Seville, where four high-end phones valued at 4,500 euros were stolen. The three suspects entered the premises pretending to be customers and, at a moment of inattention, managed to tear the devices from their security systems before fleeing.
A month later, another theft occurred at the same establishment, where thirteen devices worth 3,900 euros were taken, using the same modus operandi. Thanks to citizen collaboration, clues were gathered that allowed the identification of the criminals.
Arrests and charges
The investigators from the Civil Guard managed to identify two of the three perpetrators, as well as the vehicle used for their movements. The detainees were also linked to another robbery that occurred in Puente Genil, Córdoba, and were charged with crimes against property, aggravated theft, and belonging to a criminal group.
The judicial authority has ordered the detention of the arrested individuals, while investigations continue to determine if they are involved in other similar crimes.
