The event will take place on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, with 40 vehicles in speed and 20 in regularity. The organisation requests pre-inspection to enter the 2027 Spanish Championship.
Rincón de la Victoria will be the epicentre of Andalusian motorsport this weekend with the celebration of the 35th edition of the Gibralfaro Rally, which will bring together 60 vehicles from various parts of Andalusia. The Gibralfaro Scuderia is organising the event with the collaboration of the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall, through the Tourism and Sports departments, and the provincial council of Málaga.
Of the total entries, 40 vehicles will compete in the speed category and 20 will participate in regularity. The route will pass through the municipalities of Rincón de la Victoria, Casabermeja, Moclinejo, Totalán, Comares, Benamargosa, Cútar, Álmachar, and El Borge.
The competition will kick off on Saturday, September 26, with a day running from 9:00 to 23:30. One of the central moments will be the official start ceremony, scheduled for 13:30 in the Plaza de la Constitución of Rincón de la Victoria, where participants and fans will gather.
Activities will continue on Sunday, September 27, from 7:15 to 16:00. The Plaza de la Constitución will again host one of the main events with the trophy presentation, set for 13:45, which will conclude this 35th edition.
The councillor for Tourism and Sports, Antonio José Martín, has stated that the event is firmly established in the Andalusian calendar.
“The Gibralfaro Rally is now a fully consolidated event and an important sporting occasion for Rincón de la Victoria, with the participation of teams and fans from various parts of Andalusia.”
The mayor, Francisco Salado, has emphasised the impact of hosting such a competition for the municipality.
“During this weekend, Rincón de la Victoria will become a meeting point for motorsport enthusiasts. Many drivers, teams, and fans travel to our area to enjoy this event, which also represents an opportunity to further link our municipality to sport and tourism.”
Salado has thanked the work of the organisation, drivers, teams, volunteers, and sponsors, and has described the collaboration between the Town Hall and the Gibralfaro Scuderia as essential to maintaining the event.
The main novelty of this edition is the step taken by the Gibralfaro Scuderia to attempt to incorporate the rally into the Spanish Rally Championship in 2027. The organisation has requested pre-inspection for next year's national championship, meaning an observer from the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation (RFEDA) will be present during the event for monitoring and inspection.
The president of the Gibralfaro Scuderia, Juanma Gómez, has explained the significance of this process.
“This edition is particularly meaningful for us because we are taking a step forward with the request for pre-inspection for the 2027 Spanish Championship.”
Gómez has also expressed gratitude for the collaboration of the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall, the provincial council of Málaga, the involved municipalities, sponsors, participants, volunteers, and fans.
